"It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences."

- Audre Lorde

"Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world."

About Me

Towards community, prosperity, and well-being in an intercultural world

If there were a guiding philosophy driving Daniel’s work as an intercultural development advisor, it would be that human diversity contains the fundamental resources for our collective opportunity and liberation.

With over a decade of experience in intercultural development, qualitative research, instructional design, and mentorship, Daniel partners with multinational organizations dedicated to enhancing performance, culture, and well-being in the workplace. As Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer of Galanthus International LLC, Daniel leads the content design of all learning & development programs, including workshops and publications focusing on transformative leadership development and workplace well-being. Through Galanthus International, Daniel empowers organizations to cultivate human-centered leadership skills to drive meaningful change within and beyond the workplace.

Daniel's work in intercultural development explores how evolving perceptions about culture and identity shape institutional policies, social relations, and everyday life in an increasingly globalized world. His ongoing research investigates how historically marginalized groups use intercultural strategies to navigate social and political challenges in their communities. He has conducted international fieldwork in countries such as France and New Zealand, made possible through competitive grants from the U.S. Department of Education, the Georges Lurcy Foundation, and the University of California, Berkeley.

In light of enduring international crises, civil unrest, and heightened cultural tensions since 2020, Daniel has directed his efforts towards devising culturally attuned, anti-oppressive, and people-centered approaches to organizational leadership. At Galanthus International, Daniel endeavors to tackle ongoing equity and well-being challenges across diverse institutional contexts. His thought leadership draws from his professional expertise, interdisciplinary research, and lived experience as a queer, neurodiverse, first-generation Black American of Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latine heritage.

Apart from his role with Galanthus International, Daniel is a classically trained flutist, a language nerd, a film and anime buff, and a shameless fan of the Marvel, DC, and Harry Potter universes. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, and currently lives in Dijon, France.

I make the hard stuff easy.
